A Good Golf Swing Is Fundamental

Developing a good golf swing will have a tremendous impact on your golf score. As you know, golf is a very special game with various demands placed on the participant. Not only do you have to be physically fit, it also requires a tremendous amount of mental focus and determination. Endurance plays a part in being successful at the game, but there are many other factors involved. Throughout the entire game, you need to be focused like a laser, while having complete control over all of the muscles being used. When it gets down to basics, the art of the golf swing must be mastered to realize your true potential. Sure, there will be naysayers who think that swinging a golf club is easy and doesn’t take much effort. These people obviously haven't tried playing the game. Numerous hours have been spent playing the game by countless people trying to master the perfect golf swing.

Just look at all the golf schools in the United States alone. Specialized attention is required for the golf swing, since it is one of the most powerful and puzzling aspects of the game. Paying good money to good golf school will not help you if you do not understand the basic function of a golf swing. The whole body needs to work as one unit to produce a solid golf swing. Remember to keep a stable lower body while maintaining a steady level of flexibility and strength. Working from your wrists to your hips, the upper body has to work together. The best swing tips begin at the foundation of the golf swing before even considering the introduction of the golf club.

The swing setup begins with correct foot positions. The distance between your feet will have to be adjusted depending on the type of club being used. A general rule of thumb is for your feet to be spaced about shoulder length apart for most clubs. One exception to this is when you are using the longer clubs, requiring you to increase the width of your stance. Another exception will be when you use the shorter clubs, requiring you to narrow you stance accordingly. Correct footing while playing golf is necessary since it is an important part of the golf swing. Having improper footing will also have an undesirable affect on your golf game.

Here are some tips that involve the initial swing of the club. To acheive the best results, having the wrists, arms and shoulders work together is ideal. Try to keep everything loose and relaxed, as unnecessary tension is the last thing you need when attempting a shot. Use the entire body, not just the arms, during the swing. A nice, easy tempo will produce a better swing than trying to strong arm the shot like a lot of beginners do. Preventing the club from dropping below parallel at the top of the back-swing is recommended. When the club goes below parallel with the ground, the result is a loss of control on the down swing, creating an undesirable golf swing.
